School sports day FAQ
What’s a typical school sports day setup?
A standard primary school sports day with ~150 children typically runs: one 40–55ft obstacle course (rotating classes through it on a timetable) + one combi unit for Junior/Senior Infants and 1st class + occasionally a super slide as a finale. We can scale up for larger schools or down for smaller country schools.
How much space do we need?
An obstacle course needs 60×16ft of clear flat space (grass, tarmac or astro). A combi unit needs 22×16ft. A super slide needs 30×14ft. Plus 6ft clear all around for the operating buffer. Most school yards or playing pitches are fine; we’ll send a unit that fits the space you describe at booking.
Do you provide a supervisor / spotter?
For school events we strongly recommend the school provides at least one teacher or parent supervisor per unit, in line with HSA/standard school risk-assessment templates. Our team installs and safety-checks the unit but is not on-site during the event itself unless specifically arranged.
Power supply — what do we need to plug in?
Each inflatable runs from a continuous 13A blower. Standard school 3-pin sockets are fine. For events on remote pitches without power, we can supply a quiet petrol generator (extra). Tell us at booking whether mains is available within 30m of the setup.
Wet-weather backup?
If the school has indoor hall space, we can move smaller units indoors (subject to ceiling height — most need 12–14ft). For outdoor-only events on a wet day, we make the call on the morning and offer a full refund or free reschedule.
